A giant asteroid will fly past Earth only a few watu ago. Asteroid 4179 Toutatis within the Earth about 3 miles or 5 kilometers alone will progressively enlarge its shape within 4.3 million miles (7 kilometers) from Earth during the movement that occurred on Wednesday (12/12).
Asteroid Toutatis first seen in 1934 and was officially discovered in 1989. Asteroid did one trip around the sun every four years. An organization called The Minor Planet Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts classifies as dangerous asteroid Toutatis, which means it can pose a threat to Earth in the future.
Researchers generally say any impact caused by a space object with a width of about one kilometer will have to be global climate change in the world for many years. For comparison, the asteroid dinosaurs remove the presence of the Earth 65 million years ago, is about 6 miles (10 kilometers). According to the researchers, the distance of the asteroid Toutatis is too far away to be able to have an impact on the Earth’s surface as small as possible, but close enough to be interesting show using sophisticated telescopes.
By using advanced telescopes, asteroid movement can be tracked and viewed by the ‘sky watchers’ in the whole world including us via video streaming.
